Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
It’s hard to believe we are already in Week 6 and the end of the school year is quickly approaching. As we head into these final busy weeks, there is so much happening across our kura — celebrations, transitions, farewells, and preparations for next year. It’s an exciting time, but it can also be a hectic one for our tamariki, our staff, and our whānau.
Looking After Ourselves – Tinana, Hinengaro, Wairua
As the term speeds along, it’s important we take time to care for all aspects of our wellbeing — our tinana (physical health), hinengaro (mental and emotional wellbeing), and wairua (spirit).
Encourage your tamariki to get plenty of rest, drink water, eat nourishing kai, and take moments for calm and reflection. A walk outside, some quiet reading time, or a chat with friends can all help to restore balance. Let’s remind each other that it’s okay to pause and breathe, even when the to-do list feels long.
A Time for Celebration
As we come to the end of another school year, we take pride in the many achievements and growth we’ve seen across our school community. Our tamariki have shown determination, kindness, and creativity in so many ways — both inside and outside the classroom.
We will soon be celebrating these successes with end-of-year assemblies, performances, and prizegivings. These are special times to reflect on the learning journeys of the year and to acknowledge the effort, teamwork, and resilience shown by everyone in our kura.
Farewells and New Beginnings
At this time of year, we also prepare to farewell those who are moving on — our Year 8 tamariki heading off to High School, and any whānau or staff members who will be leaving our community. We thank you all for the contributions you have made to our school and wish you every success and happiness in your next chapter.
You will always be part of our kura whānau.
Looking Ahead
While we are celebrating the year that’s been, we are also beginning to plan and prepare for 2026. Class placements, learning goals, and new opportunities are being developed to ensure another wonderful year of learning and growth for our tamariki.
As we move through the next few weeks, let’s take time to reflect, reconnect, and appreciate all that we have achieved together this year.
Ngā mihi nui to all our whānau for your ongoing support, encouragement, and aroha. We couldn’t do it without you.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Megan Syme
