TERM 4 WEEK 6 2025

Dear Whānau, Kaimahi and  Ākonga (Parents, Caregivers, Staff, and Students)

As we approach the end of another school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to every member of our wonderful school community. Stepping into the role of Acting Principal has been a steep learning curve, but it has also been an incredibly rewarding experience—one made possible because of the support, kindness, and dedication shown by all of you.

To our staff/Kaimahi: thank you for your professionalism, passion, and unwavering commitment to our students. Your teamwork and encouragement have guided me every step of the way.

To our students/Ākonga: your enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy remind us daily why our work matters. You bring life to our school, and it has been a privilege to watch you grow, learn, and support one another.

To our parents and caregivers/Whānau: your involvement, trust, and partnership are truly appreciated. Our school thrives because of the strong relationships between home and school.

I am grateful to be part of such a caring, collaborative, and vibrant community. It is the people—you—who make our school a special place, and I thank you sincerely for the kindness and encouragement you have shown me throughout the year.

As we head into the festive season, I wish you all a joyful, restful, and safe holiday break. May the weeks ahead bring time with loved ones, moments of celebration, and well-deserved relaxation.

I look forward to welcoming everyone back safely in 2026 and to another year of learning, growth, and shared success.

Bulls School Samoan Group at the Pasifika Fusion Legacy 2025
A massive congratulations to all the girls who participated at the Pasifika Fusion Legacy on Saturday 15th November. You looked amazing and captured the audience with your graceful moves and beautiful smiles. Thank you to our parents for all your support and a special mention to Celine Leota, Lorraine Malolo, Maria Alauni, Lisi Sio and Miss Hewitt for all the fundraisers and having a vision for our Samoan Group – fa’afetai tele lava. Thank you Chelsea Boyce for your speedy work on the sewing machine, and to Ms Worner, Whaea Sarah and Whaea Tereihi for trusting us with your sewing machines. Lastly, thank you to all our aiga and staff for coming out to support our girls.

Big Congratulations to Shae who competed in the Whanganui Tough Kids event, and came 3rd in his race! Shae won the regional event for his age group so he was invited along to represent our region!

Awesome work Shae.

All cups and trophies must be returned to school office the day after Prizegiving.

Scooters & Bikes at School

We are happy that our children use these methods to get to school. Once they reach the school grounds, we expect them to push their wheels to the bike stands to avoid accidents and mishaps. If your child is unable to adhere to these guidelines, we may have to ask them to discontinue bringing their bikes or scooters to school.

Students must place their wheels in the stands as soon as they arrive. We discourage ‘other’ types of wheels as this can create unnecessary issues. Our bike track is for everyones enjoyment. Helmets must be worn at all times.

Uniform Code

All students wear the Bulls School polo shirt, polar fleece, a Sports & Cultural top, and the logoed red bucket hat available from Academy Apparel in Palmerston North. Their ‘bottom’ is non-regulation other than a colour restriction to plain black (no writing, logos, stripes or other colours). Shoes need to be suitable for school wear.

Please name ALL clothing and shoes.

• In Terms 1 and 4 of each year, red Bulls School bucket hats must be worn when outdoors.
• If hair is long, we request it be tied back for safety, hygiene and practical purposes.
• Hair styles and colours should be as natural as possible and avoid extreme ‘trends’
• which may be seen as threatening.
• Jewellery should be kept to a minimum and not pose any health or safety dangers.

SUBSCRIBE TO APP GROUPS 

Di has refreshed this and named each group with 2025 so you know it’s relevant and up to date. You will all need to join the groups specific to your tamariki.

This has important notices for either the whole school or specific groups, eg: Bus Students, Sports, Cultural, Hubs, etc, that you can join according to what your child’s involved in.

Many notices or reminders go out via the APP, so it is an important tool for parents to be aware of what is due eg: permission slips and dates for events offsite, transport required etc. This is also an efficient way to provide absence notices.

In many cases, parental permission may be given via the app as well.
