2023 Term 4 Week 8

Kia ora kouto

There is a lot of excitement about the place today – the Bulls School Got Talent finalists will take the stage and this has become a very exciting part of our school calendar!  This year we will invite the winners to participate in our end-of-year Community Concert – something I promise you, you won’t want to miss.

Our seniors have almost completed their Marton Swimming Lessons. It does create a bit of disruption to the classroom timetables – but it is a priority for us to give our tamariki the chance to increase their water confidence. As parents/caregivers, please always remain vigilant around water, especially over the summer months – which I have been told are on their way 😉

We are currently working on hub lists for 2024. If would be great is you have made alternative plans for 2024 if you let us know asap.  We are still in the process of interviewing for staff for next year, but making up the class lists is a big job and takes a bit of juggling, so the sooner we have information about enrolments, the better.

The remaining weeks are super busy and have lots of different events that may affect you – please keep checking in. The poster below has information and we are trying to keep updates flowing on our Facebook pages and Skool Loop App.

On Friday we have a few students who are attending Whanganui Tough Kids (by invitation) and we wish them all the best.  Competition will be fierce, what an awesome opportunity!

We would really love more responses to our Community Consultation – it isn’t too late. Your child can simply post it into the box in the office before the end of the week for us to put together a report of common themes for Week 10’s newsletter.

Below are many notices specific to what is going on around the place over the next few weeks, please take a moment to read them – it might help reduce the festive season silliness to know what’s coming up.

Quick reminders:  Community Concert, Parent Helpers Morning Tea, Monster Christmas Raffle, Sports & Cultural Prizegiving, and Formal Prizegivings.  More details below.

Ngā manaakitanga,

Kim Gordon, Tumuaki.

ENVIRO

This Friday 1st of December Bulls School is having Silver Award Celebration Day. This day is really important to our tamariki and kura as we reflect on our environmental journey. During this day we will have representatives from the Enviroschool organisations and others who have helped us on our journey to decide if Bulls School will get awarded and recognised as a Silver Enviroschool. We will also be having the grand opening of our school orchard.

We would really appreciate your feedback. It helps to guide and inform our strategic planning. Can you please take a few minutes to jot down some of your thoughts and return this sheet to the box provided in the office. Ngā mihi nui.

Please check uniforms at home to make sure they belong to you. We have some misplaced ones that may have been taken to the wrong home by accident.

Please ensure your child’s uniform is clearly named.

Lunch in School

The Ministry provides free healthy lunches daily, you will need to provide morning tea and a water bottle for your child. Please let the office know of any dietary requirements, alternatively, you can opt-out of the Lunch Scheme by contacting the office and then provide your own healthy lunch.
