2023 Term 1 Week 2

Kia ora mai tātou kātoa,

Yipeeee! The 2023 school year is finally here and we have started off with two short weeks to help us all get back into the swing of things.

If you are new, welcome! If you are not, welcome back!  Remember newsletters go out fortnightly on a Wednesday.  We will endeavour to let you know via our facebook social media page when it goes live and Di will also upload it to the new app. It will also be super easy to view via our school website:  www.bulls.school.nz. Simply open up the website, scroll to the bottom of the home page and click Latest Newsletter link.

There are so many ways you can access this treasure trove of information to help keep you up to date with what is going on in our kura.  The programme we use to create the newsletter is best suited to mobile devices such as phones and tablets, but you can view on a laptop, it just might not be a pretty format.  Either way, we encourage you to log-in in whichever manner suits you best.

I’m going to avoid talking about the weather BUT we are working very hard to get our swimming pool leak sorted and hopefully we will be able to open it by the end of this week.

Finally, we have changed our morning routine as we have always been aware that it felt less welcoming even though we were focused on the health and wellbeing of our students. Please feel free to come onto school grounds with your child/ren. I think the past 3 years have taught us that if we have to change or adapt to match what is happening on the global or local stage – we can do it and ultimately our tamariki sit at the centre of our decisions.

I look forward to catching up with you at the beginning and/or end of the day but if you have anything you would like to chat about, pop in and see me. My door and mind are both open!

Noho ora mai, Kim Gordon, Tumuaki.

One of the blessings we do in the morning with the tamariki helps settle their nerves and ready them for the day ahead.

It was written specifically for young children by Mere Irihapeti. Here it is if you would like to use it at home as well:
