Have you noticed any changes at Bulls School for 2012? Take a look around you. Firstly there are a few new staff members. Helen Best is in the Junior team. The Junior Team rooms have been renumbered (and now make more sense). All of the Junior team have had a room shuffle and the classrooms are looking great! The team also welcomes Kate who takes Reading Recovery and covers release for the Junior and Middle Teams.(Photos to follow). .jpg) We have a new Middle Team. They are situated in what used to be called our Library and Hall. It will take us all a while to get used to calling them Rooms 4 & 5. The teachers in these classrooms have had to start from scratch to make inviting classroom environments - and they look great! (Photos to follow). .gif) And the Senior block (Rooms 1, 2 & 3) have a new face with Fiona Singh joining the crew. All of these classrooms had the walls stripped bare to make way for new and exciting environments to be created over the holiday period. (Photos to follow).
AND we are working on (well Mr Scott is) creating a new space for the Library out of the old Dental Clinic. If you are observant you may have noticed the sign over the door has been changed. It isn't ready yet - but we can't wait to get in there and turn it into another exciting learning environment. .jpg) AND last but not least (for now) we will be making the most of the great resource on our doorstep - the Scout Hall. Our assemblies will be held there and this will be something we will need to work through until we get it 'right'. Luckily we know we can rely on fantastic parent support and patience while we work this one out. Welcome to 2012 - its gearing up to be a busy one!! . | | | | |

We are located in the rural township of Bulls between Wanganui and Palmerston North. We believe in high quality teaching and learning in Literacy and Numeracy. We also believe students need to experience a balanced curriculum including the arts, science, social sociences, health and technology. Regular physical fitness is also an important part of our programme. Here are some quotes from our most recent ERO report (May 2009) - ...positive relationships between students and teachers based on respect...
- ...students are enthusiastic and independent learners...
- ...effective teaching practices advance students learning...
- ...successfully use technology (8 interactive whiteboards and 2 laptop pods)
- ...teachers manage classrooms well, provide stimulating and child-centred surroundings...
- ...Principal and Senior Managers have a clear vision for continuous improvement...
And finally - in response to National Standards, these ERO comments relate specifically to how we report to parents: - ...we provide guidelines encouraging parents to involve themselves in their children's learning...
- ...regular, comprehensive information about children's achievement and progress is reported to parents...
- ...programme effectiveness is well monitored through robust self-review...
- ...ongoing student progress is supported by comprehensive evaluation practices...
